Hi

I'm interested to make my own variable sepia toner.
It appears that it is not possible to send Thiocarbamide nor Sodium hydroxide by mail from B&H to Canada. It is just possible to pick up at the store.

So, is there an interdiction to put these products in mail or it's an interdiction to ship across the canadian border?

It is strange because I can buy the products already <<mixed>>.

Anybody have some idea?

Regards

I don't know about getting Thiocarbamide, but I use this toner that uses washing soda.

Bleach
Water 500.0 ml
Potassium ferricyanide 22.0 gm
Potassium bromide 25.0 gm
Water to make 1.0 liter

Toner:

Water 500.0 ml
Thiourea 3.0 gm
Sodium carbonate (washing soda) 45.0 gm
Water to make 1.0 liter

Thiourea=thiocarbamide

There must be a local chemical supply company, but I'd bet Artcraft ships to CA.

Artcraft will ship to Canada and there is Nymoc in Toronto if nothing else pans out.

Another option is Photographers Formulary. They won't/can't ship via USPS to Canada, but they will ship via UPS. I recommend checking with UPS for cost because it can be expensive.
