... So, I was at a flea market today and while digging around in a box full of 35mm cameras and lenses, I uncovered a Wollensak 15", f/3.5-f/32? Telephoto lens, no shutter, mounted on a metal plate about 4" square. I had no idea what the coverage was, so I asked "how much?" and while the vendor was thinking, I noticed that one of the aperture leaves looked as if it was out of place and there was a scratch on the front element. He said $40.00, so I left it there.
I did however buy the three factory plastic wrapped bundles of film that he brought up from the basement. Each bundle contained 20 boxes of Kodak Technical Pan, 25iso, 120 B&W film, so that's 60 boxes of 1998 film that I don't have a camera for. I do have a 120 roll back for my 4x5 Calumet, so until I make a 4x5 back for the 8x10, I guess the Calumet comes out of retirement to see just how bad this old film really is. It was cheap enough, so if it's no good it's not a big loss. I've been reading on the web about this TPan and I can't seem to find a concensus on whether or not it's usable anywhere but in a studio setting. I guess I'll just give it a go ..... how bad can it be
cheers
