I was looking for some micro shutter buttons. I could not find any as of now, but I saw these crazy buttons. They are made of sterling silver or gold and priced roughly $200 to $1800.

Fair use photos (and really some beautiful photography!)

These are sure works of art. I'd be scared to use em, for fear of it falling out. I Loctite my buttons in. And in reality the artistic buttons are not up my alley. I'm after the iconic shot, not the iconic shutter button. I prefer simple black and mini buttons.

This is the micro button I use...about 6mm diam. Love em for street work, but very hard to find and very pricey for what it is.

I use rubber bumper dots on shutter buttons without threads. They're cheap and widely available. They're just not as decorative. Otherwise I use a convex button similar to yours.

I use Tom Abrahamsson's Soft Releases and I have lost a few of them over the years. You have to be careful, as they can come loose. At $20 each, the Abrahamsson ones were painful enough to lose; I cannot imagine how much I would worry if I had one costing hundreds of dollars!

Cameras as jewelry. With that sort of total outlay how many of such foolish objects are used as cameras?

I've been using this camera for the last few weeks; it's my Topcon RII. I like the shutter button collar on the 35/2.8 Auto-Topcor lens. This is actually how they made it - in green:
