I tried a new way,(for me at least), of using HC-110 with Tri-X 400,and the prints seem to posess a certain WOW factor. I am using dilution H or 1:63 from the syrup. and developing for 9 mins with an initial 30 secs agitation, then only 2 inversions at the start of each following minute. Rating the film at 200 asa and processing at 20c. This combo seems to have the look and feel that I want more than any other I have tried since Kodak changed Tri-X.
What is YOUR personal favorite combo for the WOW factor ?

Regards, John.

I'm not sure I have a fave for Tri-X. It does well in every dev I've ever tried. I do have a neg I'm of fond of that was souped in Rodinal. Yes, there's grain, but plenty of tonality to go with it.

HC-110? Always a good one.

Agitate for first min then violently once every 5 min. It works great for 4X5. I have not used it on roll film. Ansel Adams used this ratio for compensating development up to 40 min.
