I´m afraid the photographic stores in Mexico City are speculating with film and equipment, too. The "dollarquake" was invited to salesmen to push the prices for some materials that some dedicated photographers as me likes to buy, like Neopan Acros 120, that used to cost 28.00 mexican pesos, equal to $ 2.70 two months ago, and Provia 100F 120 that used to cost 45.00 pesos; some like $ 4.00.

Instead, Neopan Acros is now on 55.00 pesos ($ 4.20), 'cause you can afford it only in one store in all the city...

In addition, the most of stores are reducing the availibility of different products, they haven't ever bring to Mexico products like Provia 400X, or Neopan Acros in 35mm, and, recently, Ilford papers, saying they don't exist anymore when they want to sell you other paper.

That's bad news. I was there last December & there was a wide range of film stocks available.
The best shop for me was the one attached to the LMI lab near Condesa. I also thought the Camera #1 at Insurgentes had a good range.
Apart from that I would try my luck on that street that runs down from the Zocalo & has a number of camera shops.

Are the Polaroid street portrait guys still around & doing much business?

Maybe you should talk to your distributors, 'cause they say Kenford is the same brand tan Ilford. You can give them my email. And they don't sell all your films, or all of them they're offering are only available in 35mm. Some people need 120 film too. Thank you for your interest in mexican market.

Actually your distributor can sell Ilford, but grupo Kemik doesn't offers Ilford anymore, and the salesmen in stores say Kenford is the same than Ilford.
