The world's favourite film camera?

Hello Apuggers

I'v embarked on a survey on my blog Zorki Photo, to try and find out which are the favourite film cameras still used by those of us shooting film in the 21st Century.

This is open to all film cameras, rather than just 35mm - I've just posted it here as I know this category gets plenty of posts. (Plea to Mods - is there a better place to post this? Thanks)

I'm really interested in getting as many votes as possible and trying to make this really comprehensive. It would be fantastic if Apug members would have a look at the post and then send in their votes.

Where I'm most popular is M3. It is in the KK movie. I also have seen it on the beer box from Whistler BC brewery and on the picture frames at Michael's Art store

There needs to be some clarification. Surveys are tricky and so much depends on wording. By 'favorite' what is really meant; most often purchased, most desired, most used, ...? The word favorite is not very specific.

There are a couple of Leicas that I would really like to own but I cannot afford any.

I would say world favorite would imply a mix of most purchased, most used and most recognisable.

I did vote,,, my Nikon F Photomic Ftn from 1969, and a Mamiya C33 I used for two or three years while my buddy was on his government sponsored senior graduation trip to Vietnam. My current crush is the Kodak Retina rangefinder line from the mid 50's. Retina iic comes to mind. I guess whatever is in my hand, which now seems to be the Nikon D7200 or the Retina with Pan F

As to the meaning of 'indian' one must really blame Columbus for that is what he insisted on calling them. But it is still a good catch. I will change that attribution to native American asap.

Rolleiflex\cord everybody seems to recognize them both young and old and lots stop and talk to you about them and some just make positive comments as they walk by,to be honest it's a bloody nuisance,

Difficult question. Some cameras I like are rubbish, objectively speaking, while other, excellent cameras optically and mechanically do nothing for me personally.

The answer is probably by era and format In the mid-70's, for 35mm, most every student had a K1000 - it was basic, solid, and most of all, affordable. If you had deeper porckets, then it was a Nikon The problem was, most only had the funds to afford a K1000. I didn't have either - I had a Canon FTb.

For me, that would have been my Pentax 645. Took GREAT picutures,,, never did bond with it.

I could even go back and change my vote,,, the Mamiya C33 really fit me. I'll likely have another one,,, C33 or above before I quit adding cameras to the shelves.

I don't think the Argus C3 is in all that much used in the 21st century. True, they are relatively plentiful and cheap, yet they are rarely the "camera of choice" for most film photographers, even for those who own one. And outside the U.S., Argus cameras are actually not so common. I don't believe I've ever encountered an Argus camera at a flea market in Europe - unlike inexpensive Agfa cameras, which seem to be everywhere.
