Hello all

This year I've regularly been shooting on a FED 50 - a Soviet Olympus Trip-clone with a dirty great selenium cell and a cracking lens.

I've just done a long-term review on my blog.

Dead Link Removed

I've really enjoyed shooting with this camera. It's zone-focus, with endearing pictograms to show the distance and impressive sharpness... it really broguth out the colours on Lomography 100 film.

Anyone else shot with one?

They're not exactly rare - more than 100,000 were made - but they certainly don't crop up as often as the Trip.

WOW, Your photographs are great , istanbul shots are very nice. I am deep admirer of LOMO Factory and I would not expect such a sharpness , deep colors , classy colors from that camera.
I will not stop here and will invest in that handsom camera.

I am using soviet cameras for last 30 years and my first camera was a zenit et. Your results are faraway better than mine. I dont know what did you do at computer to intensify the colors but I loved them. Some pictures are so sharp like a leica , some others colors are so rich .

Thank you very much.

I have LOMO Anamorphic Afocal Projector lens on leica 135 hektor but I did not order development.

Will post here.

Zorkiphoto, the FED 50 is unlike what you wrote in your review not a zone-focusing camera.
It has got a metrical distance scale.

There are cameras that got such scale, cameras that got both, scale and three or so Zone symbols and cameras that only got the latter. Such cameras are zone-focussing cameras.

Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it.

I don't do very much to my films when I scan them - I boost the contrast a little. The Lomography 100 film is particularly good for scanning.

Cute camera and interesting review. There is an important correction though. The Trip name was used on various cameras and the 10 million production figure covers the sum of all of these.
