In case you were not aware, the British Pound has been falling sharply in value recently, especially against the US Dollar. From around $2.00 a few months ago, it's now hovering around $1.60. This means that our products have fallen in price to US customers by about 20% and by smaller amounts in some other countries. So the worldwide financial crisis could have an up side for some!
 

You bet - I get paid in Euros!
 
Silver has been falling, too. Hopefully this will translate to fewer price increases in b/w film products across the industry.

I was looking at your website and that paper flasher is really cool. Are they in stock?

Regular gasoline was $2.04 per gallon this morning. Down another 5 cents from yesterday. Spending less on gas means I can spend more on my G.A.S.! Yeeeehaaaaaw!

No, it's an effective price decrease due to the exchange rate - we haven't actually changed our GBP prices. The US$ equivalent cost has dropped from approx $128 to approx $102. We still charge you 63.83 GBP (plus shipping), your card provider charges you the equivalent in US$ which is now less than it used to be. Hope that clarifies it.
 

Yeah and you should see the Canadian dollar drop too. (bummer!)
 
The pound being approx. 1.5X the dollar is what the value was for years before the runaway inflation the USA has had since 2000, and particularly since 2004.
 
Sometimes one gets lucky...we brought some Aussie dollars over to the States earlier in the year when an Aussie dollar was at a high of 86 US cents. It helped to buy a little bigger house (the old one was getting tight with three 11-year olds!). Now an Aussie dollar is only worth 52 US cents. Quite a difference.

Only 3 months ago the Aussie dollar was near parity with the US greenback at 98c and I was spending wildly in places like REI Seattle and amazon.com . Now look at the blasted thing!! You won't get that lucky now with the AUD, which has plunged to 0.60c and still falling. Downunder, overseas trips are being cancelled en masse, travel agents are folding and I am told, digital camera sales have slowed in the last 3 months, which is before this "global recession" thingy. I'm wondering if a recession means cheaper second hand camera gear...?

Hah!! For a currency that has totally tanked you have to go far to beat the Aus$ :rolleyes: Like my esteemed countryperson above I too rejoiced and spent when the A$ was high on the hog, but now wince whenever I do the maths on a potential purchase.

I tend to agree. Sooner or later, that money that Paulson is "injecting" into the system (his banking buddies) is going to show up and then it inflation city again.
 
Wish I'd bought the US$ when the exchange was 2.05 to the pound.

Diesel is currently $6.98 a gallon in the UK at the moment. That down from a high of around $9.17 a gallon.
 
diesel is 2.35 US in las Vegas, it hit a low of 1.99 US a few weeks ago. Certainly when i visit London again this year, I will leave my SUV at home...just can t beat those London Cabs!
 
Salt Lake City Utah at present- regular gas- $1.57- Diesel-$1.99 US gal. Those prices include about a 50 cent tax per gallon.
