The related Sub Rule to this is to not only make sure you have film in the camera, but which film is in the camera...

A roll of ISO 80 Ortho Plus film being not only mistaken for ISO 400 HP5+, but also shooting part of the roll with a deep red filter... Really does make for a useful supply of blank film base, which I am sure is useful to have around.

[I really need to either stop playing with different film stocks in my Rolliecord, or rig up a reliable film indicator for it.]

Red filters also make Portra very interesting.

There are commercially sold film reminder frames you can mount to your camera (a few that fit an accessory shoe, others that stick on with double sided tape or the like). If you have (access to) a 3D printer, you can print them, too.

And of course painter's tape and a felt pen also work.

Haven't shot any colour film with a B&W contrast filter still on the camera yet as far as I know. But I also haven't developed any of that colour film yet, so we'll see how that goes at some point in the future.

Might print something if I can resolve the elephant's foot issue that doesn't seem to want to go away with the common trouble shooting steps for it, assuming I can find a design that looks actually robust and effective while not also looking like an ugly tumor growing off the camera.

But at the same time, just never loading it with anything besides ISO 400 B&W film solves that problem as well.

and there was a whole series of a little boy surf fishing in his cowboy hat too. I’m so disappointed!
Yes that might have been the photo of your career that you failed to take. Reminds me of the story of Little Red Riding Hood and her mistake. She was a feisty girl, who on being confronted by the wolf who asked her where she was going, pulled out a snub-nose '38 and emptied it into the wolf. She then cried bitterly for she realised she had shot dead the only talking wolf in the whole world and had thus ruined her chance of appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show"
