Our Belgium relatives went home after staying at our place for few weeks. They took back to home couple of dozens prints I made.
Yesterday our elder daughter was at our home and helped my with new camera test. I asked if she wants to check my prints.
She went through all of them and asked to take some with her.
She asked me if it is ok to keep them under light:smile:
It feels very different comparing just giving away files or Costco prints.
Cheers, Ko.

It is a great feeling isn't it?

Ko.Fe. I don't know if your kids are getting into the darkroom with you but my eldest son is in his second week of a photography course and my daughter enjoys making prints in the darkroom with me...

Even if neither of them digs deeply into it, I appreciate that they are starting to dabble.

Amazing thing is they both picked it up this year. Otherwise I had no clue they were even interested.

There is nothing that compares to holding a silver print or a color print in ones hands. Much better than stinkjet prints.

Younger daughter asked about printing under red light in old movies. I showed her and she participated several times.

Two of my daughters are accomplished photographers and printers. My youngest, now nearly 18, uses her B&W prints for art classes.

Our youngest one was checking on me while I was printing yesterday

I'm usually printing family and close to family people pictures and only few to show and share under "street" category.
But yesterday, for first time, I printed from three or four films which were exposed "on the street". Toronto (Liberty Village) and Montreal (Old Port and Griffintown).
Twenty something 5x7 prints on $10 expired old 4x5 Ilford MGIII. All from cheap Polypan F film negatives.
But, I even liked how Color Skopar 35 2.5 was rendering, usually it is too contrast and too sharp for me on prints.

I think one of the reasons why I prefer printing instead of negs scanning is my eyes. Can't spend hours in front of the monitor for scans editing.
Not only eyes, but seating for long in front of computer isn't something my body likes.
