Grr... I just realised that I didn't change my shutter speed from 30. I did some indoor still lifes yesterday. I hope that I was still enough in at least one of the shots. I should have grabed the Nikon also as it has color film in it. Live and learn.

absolutely... on the other hand it gives a nice "photo touch" to the day. It even turns Photography into a true obsession, which I appreciate !

This morning I stopped while on the road and shot a perfect "cliché" : a tree as a silhouette in the dawn... For me at least it'll be meaningful since I'm staying at my parent's place (the good luck of consulting... this doesn't happen that often, but it's much nicer than anonymous hotels !).

Yesterday was Tough. Took a quick snap on the way to work of a light I've been looking at. Not sure if it turned out. If has given me ideas of where I can park and how it would look the best when I have more than 1 minute to set it up though. I've found that the 2nd night of 12 hour shifts is very hard to get out. I sleep then drive to work (in the dark) so don't get much time to think about a shot. I have managed to get a shot every day though! I will get into the darkroom tonight. I'm doing a indoor still life tonight. I enjoy doing those! Then I'll get the blog updated!

I'm 15 for 15 and really enjoying it.

There are so many things I've wanted to shoot for years... now I make time to do it.

Processed sheets of film today so I should get the darkroom caught-up soon.

I'm finding it tough to continue to watch TV.... not much time for that.

Someday I will learn how to make a photograph without light. I live about an hour's drive North of Seattle and we have a lot of dark, cloudy days. About four or five months from now we will probably get some nice days. You know what they say, "The first 50 weeks are the hardest."

So...after 10 or so years of doing this thing I call p h o t o g r a p h y .... I still haven't learned. Uh huh. Yah, so, just the other night, I opened the back of my C330 thinking there was no film in there and exposed my roll to nice bright room light. Sigh. What's the rule here fellow PAD'ers? If you frigg up a roll which has a number of shots needed for the PAD quota...whatever is to be done when they are lost? Do I quit? Am I out? Failed? I feel tears a'comin'.... :-( Please be gentle.

I have a confession to make. Jan. 1, I took photos of my dog. I wanted to get that out of the way as soon as possible. About the roll of film accidentally exposed to light, I agree to develop and print. Since this whole exercise started, I have been trying to think of it as a professional assignment. What would a pro do? Well using more than one camera, multiple roll of film, reshoot the photos. A pro wouldn't get off that easy-- "Do quit? Am I out?"

I don't profess (or confess!) to being a pro...(snorting laughter here) But I am committed to...this project and doing the best I can. In the future I promise to keep my camera backs closed and my eyes open. :0

There seems to be many benefits from participating: asking people if you can shoot them, walking the neighbourhood taking "record" shots, trying things you normally wouldn't, and the darkroom practice. I fully expect to goof up at some point too, but I'll start right up again!

I am on track but one thing I have figured out is that I probably won't be able to ID every day.

For me that isn't the point.

So far i'm doing ok. There were 2 days that I only took one or 2 shots and 2 days (the same two) that I wasn't pleased with my results. I posted them any way. One day I did take pictures of my fish (I have ponds) which is sort of like taking a picture of the dog on my couch but oh well! I've got 4 days worth of shots to develop. Tomorrow will be my darkroom day and I plan on getting my exchange prints done also. I'm sure I'll mess up more than once during this year. I'll just continue on. I'm doing this more as a learning experience than any thing. I'll get my blog updated tomorrow evening.

I confirm it's a great learning opportunity... Depending on what you consider, last Thursday could be considered a failure (the day was a very bad one, I had no time in addition to a very bad mood... so the shot is a miserable one, and I knew it before tripping the shutter).

This is why I decided to get back to my "true love", and use the Rolleiflex instead of the AE1-P (my first love, but somewhat limiting now, at least for what I like to do). I also decided that what matters is to get one good (read acceptable, at least at the moment of shooting) shot per day. This means I can shoot a bit more, provided I expect the results to be good for me.

im doing a 365 for my daughter she was born on the 16 of january i thought it would be a good way too document her first year im still waiting to upload them to flickr but it will be done when i have time i think i may of missed a couple of days but its all been hectic with her being our first!
