And should this be in the 35mm sub-forum?

It's nonresponsive again... not that it really hurts anything for it to be down or gone.

You are quite likely right.
But, for example, it could be the Large Format Photography forum, FADU, or even a forum dedicated to tractor pulls!

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Firefox detected an issue and did not continue to www.photo.net. The website is either misconfigured or your computer clock is set to the wrong time.

It’s likely the website’s certificate is expired, which prevents Firefox from connecting securely.

What can you do about it?

www.photo.net has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

Just the owner was too lazy to enable auto renewal for their security license for the website. Normally it is not expensive, but you need to renew on a yearly basis.

Yes and for what it may or may not mean to almost everybody here, I can confirm, as can You Matt that FADU, a U.K. based site, was established towards the end of the first decade of this century and has never been down.

Yeah, one wonders. As I recollect, a much larger operation with a group of web forums bought p-net's last ISP two or three years ago and sort of carried P-Net along as a goodwill/legacy gesture. A few volunteers have been trying to keep it going but apparently The Management(tm) pretty much ignores the whole operation.

This happens almost every year on photo.net. Call it an annual event.

An hour or so ago I was able to read stuff there using Internet Explorer, but was not able to login to get the already read stuff out of the way. As Sirius notes, it's an annual event. I don't spend as much time there as here, but I do occasionally participate in the "No Words" section.

I would humbly suggest that from now on it should be known either as The Scottish Website (i.e., the website whose name we shouldn't utter) or Schrödinger's Website (i.e., the website that is simultaneously both down and running).

Well, in the Canadian House of Commons I know that the Canadian Senate is referred to as "The Other Place".
Perhaps in the UK, the members in the House of Commons refer in the same way to the House of Lords.

We are truly indebted to Brian here.

Thank You Brian!

Photo.net was an invaluable resource for me in learning about analog photography, film development, and darkroom techniques. It's a shadow of its former self now.
