Got a new black FTn for $150 as appreciation for selling so many of them in San Francisco.
That was nowhere near as good as my Canon F1s or my old Leica 2Fs, but I did happily shoot a lot of Kodachrome and Kodak 2475 with it. I liked the way it sounded.
Well, the FTn(and related models) have most things one needs in an SLR camera. And they're quality made.
I did not like the shutter dial placement, and I didn't like the slow-acting meter, however two or three of my most favorite pictures were taken with a black FT2... So I remember the Nikkormats fondly.
Just looked at one in the store while dropping off some film . Ill wait to purchase it because im just getting into the groove of my F2 i bought in the summer. The f3 feels like a tank so if you get one it seems youll get your moneys worth.

There are lots of good F3s out there, so no hurry. Enjoy that F2 for a while. I've got an F2 that doesn't get enough attention and it is a fantastic camera. THE professional camera through the 70s.
But you will get you money's worth out of a good F3 if you like them. If you don't, you can sell for close to what you paid.
