I shot a roll of the new portra (160 VC) last weekend. I shot outdoors in bright, mid-day, California sun. I even screwed up and shot the first twelve frames three stops over exposed. The prints just came back yesterday. Everything is beautiful. Even the over exposed frames printed "OK" (some highlights are blown but, really not too bad).

All I can say is WOW! Nice film. I will be buying more.

Kodak, if you're listening...THANK YOU! Please keep up the good work.

(Oh, and I've been buying out the entire stock of Tri-X everytime I find some at Best Buy...imagine, traditional B&W materials at a popular retail store....seems like old times).

I shot only one roll so far (time constraints, not due to lack of interest or appreciation): 120 size 400NC for dim natural light portraiture. The results were exquisite. Unfortunately I can't do a real "old vs new" comparison because I've never shot 400 Portra before. I've always liked Portra 160NC but have been using Fuji for some unknown reason. I've been satisfied with Fuji but this offer has given me reason to commit to Kodak. As said in the OP: THANKS KODAK!

I shot both 400NC and 400VC in 120 at the Tucson Rodeo the other week. Conditions that day were cloudless sky so was metering at f16 @ 1/500. Just got the prints back and colors etc. are great! This is very nice film.

I don't have a scanner for 120 yet so cannot post anything here. But I think a Nikon 9000D is in the offing!

Thanks again, Kodak.*
