Although finishing touches in landscaping are still being completed the museum opened last night. It is beautiful and viewer friendly and has a large number of photographs on display covering a wide spectrum of photography. If you are in or visiting Miami, Florida it is well worth a visit not only to see the art but the venue and setting overlooking Biscayne Bay and the port as well.
The Art Newspaper has an article on the museum as well as some comments on Miami culture. The paper also has a slide show on some of the art on display. Its photography collection looks rather cramped, see slides
The Guardian has a review of Miami's infatuation with the architects who design such museums, see article
North Florida envy showing ;-)
