played with it a bit more and I think the demo version is not configured correctly.
All you need to do is add a custom bb code and in the basic tab input a bbcode tag name without square brackets
e.g. table
then a title and description
use simple replacement and no options
then in html replacement you put in html tag with angle brackets and a class for css so something like
<table class="bbcode-table">
and setup the class in css
You don't need any advanced tab options
then also add tags for
th
tr
td

closing bbcode and html tags are handled automatically
I rekon a basic implementation would work without any added css classes except maybe for th and td with padding on left of say 10px.

In the demo version it works fine in the topic title scrollover popup but doesn't display in the full post view which is why I suspect its not implemeted correctly. The data in my mini test table is injected in the head section of the post but without the html tags. Its not injected into the proper post area. It may work on the APUG setup.
But esentially very simple if its implemented properly I figure.

Limits to media uploads? There used to be a 5 images per 24 hour limit on images. There's currently 18 in row by one poster and yesterday there were 10 in a row by someone else. I was just going to upload a couple, but I'm not very interested if they are likely to be pushed off the page immediately by some one uploading 24 in a row. Is the limit gone forever, or will it be re-instated at some point?

Even if I'm not posting I don't want the gallery to be full of only one person's images.

Given that there are only 25 available slots now instead of the previous 30, I'd be inclined to reduce the daily limit to below 5 as well. If it were up to me (which it most definitely isn't) I'd favor setting a hard-coded limit of 3 image uploads per person within a 24-hour window for that person. Even if the number of slots were increased again down the road.

Few connected sets of images would be greater than three, I think. And if they were, perhaps moderators could be allowed case-by-case override capability?

Setting a personal 24-hour window would also prevent gaming of the system by preventing a maximum upload at 11:59pm, followed by another maximum upload at 12:01am.

My thinking is that everyone's images deserve a good faith look, regardless of the level of talent involved. That means having sufficient time for the audience to look at them. People upload because they want to see what others think. Or possibly have to say. And as noted above, uploading one or two, only to be slammed down (and off) the screen in only a few minutes by a memory card dump, can pretty quickly become a disheartening obstacle to gallery participation.

That's a direct link to a file that no longer exists in the current system. Had they referenced the original attachment it would have imported. I did some digging and found the old file in some backups and attached it in the thread.

But it would be better if in such case a message like "file not found" would appear than that "no permission" message.

I see it. It seems to be an issue when numerals are involved. I've raised a ticket with the google search addon owner.

Hi, to troubleshoot this further. In the sidebar are "My Recent Posts". You have ignored the lounge forum, but old lounge posts that you once posted in are showing up in the sidebar? We've had a look at the code and it shouldn't be possible. Are you sure you ignored the entire forum by ticking all the options?

Whoever I upload media to one of the galleries, it puts the whole gallery on my watch list. So I get an alert whenever someone uploads an image and not just when someone comments to photos I've uploaded. How do I keep that from happening?

Maybe I'm not understanding. I uploaded an image yesterday to the standard gallery. It got views and one comment, so I know people are seeing it. Also, I saw it in the left pane for several hours on the main forum pages. I don't see it, however, when I click Latest Gallery Photos. Did I pick the wrong gallery?

I have a feeling that the "Latest Gallery Photos" links to "New Media", which in turn is similar to "New Posts". And like "New Posts", once you have looked at a photo and comments, it no longer shows on a "New Media" search.

I just played around to confirm - if you click "new media" you won't see images you've already looked at. If you just click "media" in the main toolbar, you'll see everything. "Latest Gallery Photos" gets the same result as "new media."

Thanks. I noticed that too. I don't think I like that. Also, since I posted, I now get an alert every time something is uploaded. Guess I need to look at preferences...

Hey Sean,

Any chance the Mark Forums Read button can be swapped with the New Posts button? Just realized that the Mark Forums Read button is where the New Posts button is on a lot of the vBulletin forums I visit. So, a couple visits ago, instead of searching for new posts, I wound up marking the forums read.

Hi Jason, this is what a member at xenForo has to say about the settings:

This is a user option in Preferences:

Automatically watch categories that you add media to...

and receive email notifications

I believe the user must set this as I can't find an option to set it by default for new users on registration.

Users can untick the option in their Preferences. This will prevent watching/emails for any new categories they upload to.

To unwatch/stop emails from existing watched categories they can go to

yoursite.com /watched/categories

and from there disable email alerts for watched categories or stop watching categories altogether.

I still think it might be a default setting that needs changing site wide, so investigating.

I've done that too. It seems I'm conditioned after years of using the old site - my hand just moves the cursor there without looking.
