Some of you may remember the loaner program where I loaned out a Koni in exchange for a couple prints... (you can search for MF Loaner Program) anyway the last victim is the wife of a fellow I work with. They ended up moving while she had the camera, and it certainly did drag out a little longer than expected. However (and this is the good part) she has purchased a Pentax 645 !! Woo-hoo, someone else infected!

So, after I got my Koni back, I was checking it out and discovered that the shutter sticks on occasion. It turns out that she did have a few "blank" images, but she thought it was her fault ( I apologized). I will have to have the shutter worked over before I can loan the camera out again, but with Greg Weber just up the road it shouldn't be too bad. Maybe I can get him to swap a repair for a dinner.

Sure does feel good to be the cause of someone spending cash on a <gasp> Film Camera...

Good job rex. I am currently trying to convince a young high school student that there are more "tools" available with traditional (analog) photography - different camera styles and formats and the varying properties of film.
One at a time we can start winning them over!

What a great idea! And from a fellow nebraskan too! I am a college student but grew up in lincoln. I started and continue to teach an after school program in darkroom for middleschoolers here in Chicago. What a joy it is to share the passion with others huh?

It doesn't take much!
You'd be surprised at how easily youth are won over into analog...
Only problem is, there's not many people introducing it to them anymore, and even when they do, no facilities for them to use...
My highschool had no photo program to speak of, the closest thing was at the local community college, but even that was all digital...
Good thing I like to dive headlong into things I know nothing about, or I never would have wound up here!
