Some (two) spacer rings, 13mm high, machined on the lathe. When the tank is only partially filled with reels there is a gap between reel and clamp. The ring fills this gap and prevents the reels from moving on the column when agitating. Of course I could put empty reels in the tank, but I don´t like that.

Now that I'm lucky enough to have running water in my darkroom (garage), I'm more diligent in washing my hands than when I had to use a closet. However I'm always worried that droplets water will remain on my hands after wiping on the hand towel. And after a few hours of printing, the towel is starting to get damp and less absorbing.

Enter... the SECOND TOWEL!

I'm not kidding: I have a two-towel regimen, like some people have a two-fixer-bath processing sequence. I keep one big and rough towel near the sink, to take away most of the water, and I keep another one on a hook near my enlarger.

That way I have a last opportunity to dry my hands before manipulating negatives, and that second towel never gets as damp as the first one.

Enlightenment.

My experience is there is no better towel rack/dryer than an oil filled radiator, from low to high temperature, provided it's not heating up.

If you use one, be sure it's cleaned of any dried on chemicals between sessions.

IMO.

Ha, I also do 2 towels, but one is a "dirty" towel I can use with my gloved hands when I just need them dry to handle something, and one is a "clean" towel that I only use on bare hands immediately after washing with soap, so that towel never gets contaminated.
