Never used an M3, but for engage in this kind of sex at this age you need a good clean, lube and adjust.

I'm not a dentist (shoot, I don't even have my own teeth anymore), but an M3 DS w/ a 50 DR Summicron sticks in my mind as the most beautiful camera I ever owned, and it took some of my best photos too.

That sure is a ratty example they have on your link. The camera's covering is trying to crawl off. I didn't watch the video but the comments are hilarious.

I have an M3 and M6 - and yes: M3 is the most beautiful camera I own .

Ha ha! Good one. I had an M3 for a little while. Loved it. Then about 6-7 years ago after a particularly good year at work I found a used but excellent MP for a very nice price. Sold the M3 after. Picked up a very nice user M2 from Youxing Ye last year. I love it. But strangely it's not an M3...

The Leica IIIc and IIIf were the sexy ones. They were to the M series as a sports car is to a SUV. Unfortunately, if you MUST single-stroke or double-stroke the film advance, you have to buy the expensive Leicavit.

I've been considering buying an M2, partly because it has frame lines for 35mm. However, it seems huge compared to my nice little IIIc. My IIIc was overhauled by Youxin Ye and works perfectly. I can't see me selling it for a bigger camera, I guess.

I suppose to some it's all a matter of taste, but 35 years ago I bought an M2 and later a M3. The M3 wouldn't take
a 35mm lens so I sold it and later bought a new M4-P and kept the M2.

Gotta say, that for a rangefinder the M2 is a nifty little camera. I've had it so long now the rewind, film loading
and frame counter have become second nature.

Yep, the M3 is a fantastic camera, but for me the M2 is even fantasticer.

I don't own one, but have handled the M3. I was amazed at the huge bright viewfinder. I think it would be very fast to focus and compose a shot. That is the selling point to me. (someday I'll get an M3 and dual range Summicron)

I've had a couple of M3 cameras in my time, and certainly it was the finest camera I've owned, even compared to a Leica MP. The feel of it is remarkable, nicer IMHO than a Rollei or a Hasselblad. Only let down by the fact it's a 35mm camera, not medium format.

Leica might make amazing cameras and amazing lenses, but they'll always be held back by using small film, for me, anyway.

Not everyone, especially when film makers still left long film tongues on 35mm film. It takes a simple extra step to load modern film.
