Anyone here know what's going on with The Large Format Forum today? It hasn't been accessible all day long.

LOL... the withdraw symptoms are getting worse!

Cheers

I'm not having any problems accessing it with Firefox.

No problem at all - right now.

A few days ago much of the network here broke down, and the LF forum was the only one I could get!
I wonder where that server is?

According to its IP address and a tracert: Palo Alto, California (isc.org). Being ISC, it should be well connected.

I was on LFInfo 30 minutes ago - no problems for me.

Cheers, Bob.

I have been having no problem and have been participating over there for an hour or so this morning. I could get on anytime I tried yesterday as well.

&%^%&^$*^% technology! I still can't get connected to the site. The crazy thing is that I can connect to this site and to Photo.net and any of the other sites I usually visit.

But, when I try to connect to The Large Format forum, the url comes up and I get a message saying that it's connecting to the site. But, no connection!!!

Darn frustrating!

It's as if the server can't find the site.

HELP!!! Even coffee doesn't help!

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Cheers

Have you tried a different browser by any chance? For example if you are using IE try firefox http://www.mozilla.com -that will rule out a browser glitch. If that still doesn't work try disabling any firewall security apps you might have running..

Where else but APUG would you get the owner of the website helping a non-paid member of this site access a competing site - and it isn't the least bit surprising?

This place is amazing. Thanks Sean!

Matt

P.S. Good luck, StreetShooter - hope you solve your problem.

Hi Sean,

Thanks for the suggestions but I've tried connecting via both Safari and IE browsers. I've not tried Firefox though.

Does Firefox support the Mac platform?

As for firewall security apps, I must admit to being relatively inexperienced with setting these things up. I'll have to get our techman up for a peek!

[Now, I know what a junkie feels like without their daily fix! ]

Thanks all.

Cheers

Hi Matt,

I concur with you 100%!

Thank you Sean.

Hmm well it's starting to sound like your ip address is being blocked by them for some reason you might need to email their admins. First go to Dead Link Removed and give them the address that comes up, ask if they are blocking it. I know sometimes I have to block an entire range of ip's to get a spammer and occasionally a legit member will get blocked inadvertently..

I know several of the moderators there, just the other day they helped me locate a code fix for IE5 users having login troubles.. so I'm happy to help out if i can..

Hi Sean,

Thank you again. I'll give your suggestion a try.

Spammers!!! I wish they'd get a life and do something constructive with it.

Cheers

I've been having the same problem - intermittent outage / non-connectivity. It's not a browser problem.

Hi Walter,

Glad I'm not the only one that's experiencing this... what ISP are you using?

Cheers
