Was in Thailand a while back, if you had been there, you would know the the poster of the king is everywhere. Many of them features him and his Canon SLR, also on the back of banknote, you can see him holding a camera as a child.
Was wondering if he every release his works, would really be interesting to see the world from his perspective.
It would be tough for him to get an honest critique of his work in Thailand...from what I understand, saying anything bad about the King can land you in jail...
An Australian fiction writer was recently jailed and somehow released fairly promptly (after about a month) following a pardon. He included a very brief paragraph about the fictional love life of the Prince.
As it is well known in Australia that lese majeste in Thailand is very dangerous there is and was some suspicion regarding the calculated security/publicity risks. The book at the time of his imprisonment had sold very few copies, a situation which, to my knowledge, has not changed.
I guess that "Alice's Advetures in Wonderland" is quite popular in Thai Royal circles.
I recall seeing photos of him back in 2001 when I was in Thailand that he was a Contax shooter. I guess as he's aged, he switched to autofocus. If you google around, you can find some of his photos on the web. He's competent - they only showed a few of his images, and most of them were from 40+ years ago, so it's hard to judge.
