It's a bit early. Ten days to go.

I wonder if they would like to market my new contrast control filters I have developed for black and white photography. They are simply based on the property of existing filters -- a filter lightens its own color and darkens its opposite color. For example a yellow filter lightens yellow and darkens blue.

It is a two filter set. A filter made with specially formulated white coating on a glass lightens the whites of a scene and darkens its opposite -- the blacks. This effectively increases the contrast of the scene. No more boring flat negatives on those gray overcast days! No extra-long boring development times in the darkroom!

The second filter was more difficult to create -- it took a lot of chemistry and some physics. But a breakthrough in electromagnetical fusionality has allowed me to create a black filter that effectively lightens the blacks in the scene while darkening its opposite -- the whites. Finally a way to reduce contrast in those slot canyons and other high contrast situations without having to do complicated compensating development!

Vaughn, I'll take one of each for my new invisible camera!

I'm off to take pictures of the emperor. I hear he has new clothes.

Peter, the black filter, combined with the f/0.002 aperture of the Invisible Camera should allow you to take a nice long exposure of a nuclear explosion without the center of the blast washing out. Make sure to get the camera model made with leaded glass...

I received the answer from my quantum computer about a year ago. But I will have to wait awhile to find out what the question was, because I have not built the computer yet.

Or to put it another way, we will not know if it is a hoax until he opens the box. However, I suspect you will find a dead cat in the camera.

Yeah, but we would not know where the dead cat was!

I have carefully reviewed the technology of this "photo system" and I think that it is similar to those X-ray sun glasses that you could buy 40 years ago.

However, I suspect you will find a dead cat in the camera.

Now I have to imagine a neither dead nor alive (undead?) cat crammed into this tiny glass box... thank you very much  I love cats, but I prefer my cameras without any felines in them. It's hard to get all the hair off the film...

And I do hope, they also make a special ground glass screen that goes with the camera. If it works with film, it should also make an ultra-bright viewing screen.

I'll definitely register for testing, just to see what happens :whistling:

This sucks, I am now going to bookmark this site, and then hope that I remember to come back on April 1st to see what the punch line to this joke is. They have done a great job of setting this joke up, I can't wait to see the big finish.

What if they really do send out cameras and film and someone properly handles exposes the film in an actual 4X5 camera and sends it back? I think their reaction after processing that would be funnier than their own joke.

My 7x17" camera is invisible. It says "Invisible Camera Company" right on the name plate.

Well, you might. But then you wouldn't know when you found the dead cat.

I actually had one of these cameras once. I couldn't put it down. Once I did, I couldn't find it.

Yup, the invisible camera has been around for nigh on 100 years!

But since it was invisible, nobody ever saw it!
