The Impossible Project - The Final Countdown

Got my camera for type 600 right in front of me-- and I am really excited....

I am super curious to see if they will be selling the products via retailers such as B&H etc... If they keep doing what they are doing now, I won't be able to afford anything they offer.

I know it's hard to say, but does anyone have any idea on this?
thx

Nobody has even seen a prototype yet...

(But there statements were about 2€ per sheet.)

Being an all-analog photographer, I can wait. Anticipation is one of analog's primary virtues, and should never be rushed.

Sometimes The Impossible takes just a wee bit longer...

I can wait too, but I just get nervous that the letter says a small problem came up and the will anounce wether or not this all worked out.

Well, I would say they've done quite well to bring it this far in such a short time. I'd bet both Kodak and Fuji took longer than one year to develop their instant film technologies, and they had a lot more resources. So hang tight (or hang loose, your choice; works either way).

Couple of emails received yesterday. One from Marlene K and one from Dr. Kaps.

Dr. Kaps' email

And Marlene's . . .

Seems like deja vu to me. I've seen this somewhere before or something like it.

Oh, I do sympathize with them, as I have BTDT. If it is a shutdown problem, I've seen that, if it is a hue shift with time, seen that, if it is a speed loss or gain with keeping, seen that and a host of others.

If anybody hasn't been watching, The new Impossible Project site was put up this morning.

Little tidbit of interest.

Film now available

According to an Email I've just recieved from The Impossible Project the first new films are now on sale in the US.

We are honored to announce that these fantastic and increasingly rare films have arrived on our shores. From this day onward, all of our venerable Polaroid films, as well as (hopefully soon) NEW film materials, will be delivered fresh - directly from our new US warehouse.

Concerning our new warehouse, we have two minor announcements. First and foremost, we hope you understand that in order to provide you the best service possible, and due to a recent USPS fee increase, we are forced to raise our flat-rate shipping to $11 on all orders.

Finally, we must adjust our three-day shipping claim to account for the realities. We would like to apologize to those of you on the western frontier, who will experience extra shipping days, but such is the length and breadth of our great land that deliveries from UPS and USPS require up to 6 business days from our Boston-based warehouse. Those of you in the Deep South and you hearty souls in the Midwest should receive your packages in 2-4 business days and all you Yankees should expect the postman to call within 3 business days or less!

All of this brings us to the announcement of our limited-time promotion:

We celebrate the re-arrival on our golden shores
of these soon-to-be-snapped soldiers by offering you
$5 off shipping costs for the next 55 hours!*

*starting 11:55am EST on March 2, 2010

The shop part of their website seems to have gone into overload.

I see that as they will be on sale soon but they have set up a warehouse becuas they have written "(hopefully soon) NEW film materials"

In answere to Varya's question about availablity whether in stores like Freestyle or just Online:

An EU online store posted on APUG a week or two ago and seemed to indicate that was the case but their post as deleted.

I see that as they will be on sale soon but they have set up a warehouse becuas they have written "(hopefully soon) NEW film materials"

I read it as was in their warehouse initially, the wording is a bit ambiguous.

SWEET! The site is back up, and I have ordered several pks.

woo hoo - thanks so much for letting me know about this today!

I am also very curious about the "new".

I had emailed them and they had told me that they are working on hooking up to sell with stores like Freestyle and B&H.

So... they are currently selling the "old" Pola stock, and will soon be selling their "new" stock?

Their current plan is to announce their project and wether it is "impossible" or not on MARCH 22, 2010....I can't wait!!!

hah! I bought old stock then... well, I sure jumped the gun on that one......

Yes the stuff the have right now is most likely expired but is still actual POLAROID material.

At the moment there are two Impossible companies: a dutch and an austrian one.

The websites of the Impossible/Polaroid complex are linked in a strange way.
