Thanks for the tip, Keith! HP5+ is a favorite of mine, so the contest is good motivation to go shoot! Guess that means figuring my taxes suffers another delay!

How do they know that the film was HP5+ if they don't want the negatives? A print from any film could be used it seems. Just wandering?

Oh no, that's cheating!
Believe Ilford would be able to determine the film type buy analyzing the grain structure.

They say not to send negs with the entries, but they could ask the prospective winners to send their negs for verification.

Is this contest open to USA only?

"Promotion and competition only available in North America.
Click on the PDF links below for English, French and Spanish versions of the rules and entry form."

I think the inclusion of French clearly puts Canada in the frame.

I like interesting challenges and coincidentally I have a pile of HP5 in my film stash and Ilford paper by the enlarger.

Does anyone know if there is a restriction on when the negatives were shot?

As long as they are Ilford HP5 Plus! I'm not sure how long that film has been around. I know Ilford HP5 has been around for awile but not sure about the PLUS kind.

Too bad any entries have to be printed on Ilford B&W paper too. Currently I can't do any B&W printing of my own, so that's going to exclude me from sending in any entries.

For one, not in the USA, but me too am currently sans darkroom, with enlarger in a box. Too bad, as I'm getting some seemingly very nice negs with HP5+... well, at least they scan nicely. :surprised:

Can't wait to find a dark corner again...
