The FED essay

I've prepared a whole essay on the adventure of buying, testing, dismantling, repairing and putting back together a FED 2 I bought about a week ago.

I don't think you could buy enough FEDs or Zorkis to cover the travel expenses )

However, anyone visiting these parts is always welcome - and yes, there's plenty of room for visitor(s). And I also have a darkroom - rather small, but still a darkroom.
And plenty of analog gear to exercise - I could really use some help, I can't rotate between all the camers fast enough to give them all a monthly "click-click" )
Or a "kerr-chunkkk" for some of them ;-)

No, there are really not so many (only about 15) - it's more due to lack of spare time to exercise them all.

Very enjoyable essay. Got any more?

No, not really. It's my first try at photo journalism (of a kind).
Just wanted to give back something to the (RF/tinkerer) community, hoping it would be an enjoyable read.
However, with more feedback like yours, there may soon be more ))

Also, the new scanner I got recently helps. ;-)

I just need to get familiar with Photoshop and/or Gimp.

I enjoyed the essay very much. I tinker with rangefinders too (with varying degrees of success). I see you also use double sided tape to hold and identify the parts as they are removed. Taking photos as you go helps too.

I have cable modem and it did take a while to load all the photos, but it was well worth the wait!

I have a collection of FEDs and I also repair/tinker with them.

The FED 2s are one of my favorites because of their long base rangefinder. There were several models of the FED2 and I believe that I have all (or most) of them. There was a lot of model number crossover (and not just with the FEDs). For example, I have a FED 2 that looks identical to a short base rangefinder FED 3. Configuration control (and quality control) did not seem to be very important to the FSU camera industry's commissars.
