Yesterday visited the Chicago community darkroom (Dead Link Removed). Wednesdays are their "open house" and it was a great change to have a look around. The place buzzing with activity (along with a poetry reading event in the next hall), and a bunch of "kids" were there zapping out test prints and hanging negatives.
The place is VERY well stocked, and has a super nice setup for BW film processing and printing.
While the space is a bit tight, i hear they are looking to move, but even now this is a huge asset and resource to anyone in the Chicago area who wants to drop by and print.
They even have a Jobo processor on hand, and lots of tanks and gear to run pretty much anything.
The folks who manage the place whom i met there seem to really know their thing, and know what they are talking about.
A great place to support so go and make some silver prints!
