Does anyone have "The Chemistry of Photography" by David N. Rogers?

If so, what do you think of it?

I have a book by that title, pretty old one. Can't remember who wrote it though. What I could understand of the less technical parts were quite fascinating.

This one is only a few years old - pulished by the Royal Society of Chemistry; 1 edition (March 6, 2007).

I have one called "Photographic Chemistry", by George T. Eaton, fourth edition second printing 1988, originally published in 1957.

Kirk, I will be reading it in a few days... anything in particular you want me to look for?

Kevin - the one I'm wondering about should be a bit more complicated than Eaton (which was my first photochemistry book and a good one for that).

Ray - let me know what you think. In particular, emulsion making, both theory and practical stuff.

Kirk, will do.

I have seen some of it already and while it is too early to tell, certainly, there are many cases where it is very weak... watered down to a high school level. The gelatin section for example, relies way too much upon the web sites of commercial gelatin manufacturers... and little, if any new material is presented.

The style seems a weakly immitation of another Springer Verlag book...

I will have to go over it with a fine tooth comb (I am sure it has it's moments!),
but a Mees it ain't.
