I wet print always. I only scan if I want to share digitally on here, or other networks. I think is sacrilege to shoot film and then process the image digitally - kinda defeats the original purpose.
My film of choice is TriX. When the Kodak debacle happened last year, or year before I tried to move to HP5 but didn't get very far.
Its been a year since I shot anything, and I just bought 5 rolls of 35mm and 5 rolls of 120 to get myself back into the groove of things.
hi christopher ..
i don't know, maybe i'd make the "standard" caffenol c
maybe use the teaspoon measure method to make it easy for yourself
add an extra scoop of coffee and washing soda and vit c
( more ingredients for the standard amount of water ... so its "a little stronger" ) ..
and then a splash of your standard print developer ( stock, un-dilute ) ..
i use ansco 130 because i have it lying around, but i am sure anything will work
( its just to give it a boost / kick )
if you are using tri x, rate it at about 150 or 100 and bracket a little bit
and develop your film by agitating it for about a minute, letting it stand 15 mins, agitate again
let stand for another 12-13 mins and agitate again
for about 27 minutes ... so you will agitate at the beginning, in the middle and at the end ..
just to warn, you might get a little bromide streaking from the print developer ..
but it should give you usable negatives ...
i don't use stop bath, but rinse until the water you pour out is clear, and fix normally ...
you probably won't have coffee stained negatives but you might get nice grainy/gritty film ..
( or it might look like you processed it in d76 or id11
)
just make sure you get the right ingredients and as long as you do, you probably won't have trouble
have fuN!
