I've got a research budget at my university so I'm hoping to be able to buy a few items, like the backdrop stand (for a green screen) and maybe a ring light (if I still have enough left in my budget), that can be used both for work and at home (thank you, online learning!). I hadn't thought about a ring light for still lifes, but that may work well for my purposes.

They do, but they create unusual catch lights, and they don't put out a huge amount of light. Some of the fashion photographers have used them in interesting ways, but you may need a fashion model to make that work!

Thanks, I'll put it on the list. I would be happy to have a model that didnt complain.
