I got one of this camera in 8x10" size. I remove the modern LF lens because I want ti use a 110 years old Carl Zeiss Jena Series V Protar 110mm f/18
This lens ist so pretty small and the weight is minimal.
Zeiss mentioned the lens with an image circle of 280mm. I want to use the camera only with 18x24cm x-ray films. This sheet size has needs an image circle of 300mm
I have also to remove the lens board, than I messure the levelling of the body and adjust it. I made a new lens board and turned a ring for the lens flange to fix it to the calculated extension.
I set the lens exactly of the focus point of 10m. At this I have a DOF in the range of 5m-oo @f/32. This seams the best choice.
I made some sample shots with the Fujifilm UM-MA x-ray film and I guess it is a good camera with a good lens and both are working together.
The finishing is not ready, first I cover the board with tape before testing. When everything is working as it should I want to cover it with leather.
When I developed the films I saw this the camera has a small light leak. Now this is fixed.
Next is to gave the camera a 15mm finder. I ordered a Voigtlander finder. 15mm on the 35mm film size is very similar to the 110mm in 18x24xm.
Taken with f/55, 4 Sec.
