Hi, not sure any of you remember me. I used to be a pretty regular user of APUG. 4 or 5 years back 2 different APUG users (sorry forget your names, its been a while) gave me some free 5x7 Linhof boards. I told those APUG members that I would use the boards and finally that has happened. In 2015 I did a series called "My Fathers Last Days" which dealt with the last year of my fathers life as he dealt with pancreatic cancer. In November/December of this years I also used the Linhof 5x7 with the APUG boards on a project in Asia "Forgotten Laughter: The Children of the Dump" which deals with Burmese refugee families living and working in a garbage dump in Thailand.

I decided to rejoin APUG again tonight and the first thing I wanted to say was THANK YOU to those two members who so graciously helped me. The boards were put to good use and will continue to be used when I return to the dump and Asia in April 2016.

Will try to look through my records to find the names of the two people who gave me the boards so can thank them individually as well.

Gerry

Strangely enough, I do recall the name. Good to see you again. Even better that you've put those small gifts to very good use. Is it possible to post any of the resulting images? I might think that would really make the donating members feel good.

Welcome back.

Thanks Silver, carrying 40lbs of 5x7 gear on my back as I walked through the garbage dumps heat and flies in Thailand was tough. Also managed to step on a nail one time (3 hour hospital visit for a tetanus shot!). Still compared to what these children experience everyday, compared to what the families live through in the dump, lugging around a camera ain't that bad!
