TF4/5 and Lith Print

One of the things that often bug me is when my fix bleaches the beautiful highlights I got on my Lith prints. TF4/5 are supposed to not do that and it is one of their main selling argument.
My issue is that I need a strong stop bath to freeze the lith development.
So, can I dismiss the water rinse and still use stop bath ?

You can use a 1% Acetic Acid stop bath with both fixers.

I don't know if there is any valid science behind this, but I stop my lith prints in ordinary Kodak stop bath for 30 seconds, then give them a 30 second rinse in water before fixing them.

G, if you are referring to the bleaching action with the transtar paper, sorry but that's the way it is. It's not going to matter what fixer you use or whether you use water or stop bath. You really have to let the print go until it looks too dark.

Wish I had fooled around with a step wedge early on, I probably would have saved time and paper.

In fact they all do more or less. When I have highlights that are just there (meaning I could have expose more light...) they sometime go away with fix.
I always do darker but sometimes it's not enough. And I always bleach for toning so protecting my highlights are becoming an obsession !

I thought sodium sulfite the stop to use when lith printing.
Hydroquinone's infectious development is halted in the
presence of more than very little sulfite. Dan
