Hi

In relation to some issues, regarding the instruction pamphlet in the 2.5L kit, I eventually got in touch with Mr. Beestermoeller, Tetenal Germany. The person is a general manager for sales in the German office and he told me the following:

"Please be informed that in around 6-8 weeks we will launch a 1 litre box – with the same formula and the same

concept of parts with equal content. When we discontinued the 1 litre and the 5 litre boxes C-41 to get them

replaced by a 2,5 litre box, we underestimated the strong request of users for a smaller box. Therefore we

revised our decision and will additionally launch a 1 litre box (again). This is what I wanted to tell you.
"

So, even though it may not be entirely official yet, there you go.
- I'll keep battling my 2.5L kit for now, but next is the 1 liter one, as it is way more practical if you are not a high-volume kind of c-41 guy.

Just a heads up, this is good news indeed, cool that Tetenal seem to have heard the cries from the users.

Thank you for this good news! I wish they would also reintroduce the 5L kits. Maybe we should be more vocal (i.e. sending polite e-mails to ask for the return of 5L kits too). I run a small home-based lab processing C41 and E6 on a ATL220 Jobo with Tetenal kits and now that my volume is picking up I need those 5L kits to maintain reasonable prices.

Fuji Hunt makes a very nice C-41 5 liter kit available in Europe for less money than the Tetenal kit with the added benefit that you get "the real C-41" (separate Bleach and Fix as opposed to BLIX). A second alternative you could consider is buying the individual 1 liter size concentrate bottles available from Compard/Digibase. There should also be a Fuji Hunt kit for E6 in 5 liter size.

Thank you for the tips. Is the Fuji Hunt kit a 6 baths process? I like the Tetenal kits because I can divide my ATL chemistry rack into 2 three baths sections making it very easy and fast to switch from E6 to C41. As recommended on Apug, I add a stop bath between CD and Blix for my C41 process which should prevent silver retention and prevent Blix from going bad too soon. I get great results with excellent consistency. Here in France, I haven't seen any online store selling the Fuji Hunt kits. Will keep looking for those.
