I have seven old wooden 8x10 film holders and a couple of outdated boxes of Kodak 64T film (I think it is C41). I have not shot anything 8x10 yet.

I would like to use the film to test the film holders for light leaks, but I only have B+W chemistry. This would save me from testing with fresh 8x10 B+W film.

Can I use D-76 to develop this film enough to see light leaks? If so, any recommendations on time?

You could use B&W paper to test the holders. Probably cheaper than film. Single-weight works well; Foma's RC is very thin and inexpensive paper, but almost any paper will do.

Thanks for the replies.

Any other advice out there?

The easyist and cheapest methode is as mjs said with RC-paper. When I think there could be a problem with my holders I test it this way.
