Hi,

Most of my favorite E6 films have now been discontinued for some time, and I ran out of my own deep frozen supply. While searching for expired film on-line, I found this interesting site:
Dead Link Removed

these guys seem to be selling tested batches of film. I know this isn't full-proof, and there can always be surprises, but at least you know what to expect roughly.

Do you know of any other such sellers that sell tested batches of film?

Or do any of you have tested expired Ektachrome film for sale?

Thanks

Not tested but I bought 15 rolls of 2003 expired Kodak gold 100, storage not specified.

The first 2 rolls came out great with bright strong colors looking very much like high saturation slide film.

Those Ektachrome rolls are probably all perfectly fine.

i agree
the film is probably fine.

here is a thread i started a few months ago
that got a few people a bit peeved because
i think the whole cold storage thing is a lot of bunk
while i honed in on b/w films
you might look in this thread
and check out posts by mr bill,
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)
it might give you a little confidence about the color films you might buy that might not be frozen all their lives.

good luck

I shot some 35mm expired film from 2006. among them there were rolls of Fuji Reala, Kodak TN400 , etc. Very foggy, colors off, the base was so dark it wasn't orange anymore but almost brown...
I got them for free so I shot just for the heck of seeing what happens. they must've been kept very badly.

FWIW, I took some expired Fuji Reala out my freezer and shot it the other day. The base on that film is naturally dense -- it was that way when it was fresh. Film was just fine. Bear in mind that this was film I purchased fresh and has been stored in my freezer since then, not expired film that has been stored in unknown conditions.
