You're all going to hate me for this one...

I took this test a few years ago:

and missed (I think) six. Took it a few days ago and got a perfect score. I forgot to check my ranking, but I think 16% of the population get a perfect score.

Before I retired I worked as a color corrector in a lab (for 18 years) and a while back the supervisor gave the test to all the color correctors and a few others for fun, and all the color correctors including me got perfect scores. Those who weren't missed a few. It's not that hard if you don't rush.

I've done that one before, and my score varies depending on the computer/monitor.

4, not too bad. Missed some at the left of the top row. I could probably score better if I was more careful.

Yes, that's a valid criticism of this test, some monitors are just horrible.

Only have a tablet, no computer, and trying to drag and drop does nothing other than move the whole page left and right or up and down.

I got 31 on the color munki, but then I made the screen a lot bigger and got 11. On the second test, I got a perfect score. Not bad for a senior citizen. Maybe I need to try some color printing.

I had to use my system at work, which has reasonably ok monitors (Viewsonic).

I'm a bit surprised that I got a perfect score because there were two different squares that seemed out of place no matter where I put them.

I got a 4 as well, and I primarily shoot black and white. My wife wouldn't believe it. She thinks I am color blind.

Both my monitors are super corrected, plus one is just a plain super monitor. Easy peasy on that! I think you would have to be color blind or impatient to not do well if your monitor was accurate, although very few people actually have accurate monitors.

I'm too tired to try right now (and I haven't calibrated my monitor in too long to trust it), but I've done it before and gotten all but a pair or two correct. Back in my forensic days, a bunch of us trace examiners in New England took a class on fibers together and we did the physical version of this - little circles of color with enough black around them to make it difficult to see how they compare to the next one over. I missed one pair out of all four strips. At least four people got all of them correct. The worst in the group only placed about 5 or 6 in the wrong spots. Which is good since we all spent much of our time trying to figure out if loose fibers or paint chips were similar to known standards or not. Color was the first thing we looked at most of the time.

One of the things I wonder about the tests is whether they are good indicators of the ability to detect hues on reflective media.
Computer screens use transmitted light. Prints use reflected light. I don't know, but I would guess that the difference is important.

Good point. The original FM test this online version is based on used colored blocks. I think the set costs more than $500.
