 I just returned from the Sonora area where I picked up a previously ordered dark cloth from Kevin Saitta - an APUG sponsor.

It is absolutely beautiful to look at as well as to use. I bought the 5x8' one to use with 7x17 camera.
It works wonderfully. The construction is silky black material on the inside so that one can move around to view the large ground glass without the cloth moving. The outside is a very white, water resistant material. The cloth is heavy enough to preclude the use of weights in the corner.

All in all, a really great cloth to use.

I can't recommend the cloth too highly - and weight until you get a price.

I also saw one of the film holder bags which he and his wife designed and make in their home. They are made of heavy padded fabric with padding between the holders. One of these will be my next purchase.

Does he make 8x10 film bags and how many does each hold? The cloth sounds very nice. I have a Calumet one and it's blue and white and will last a life time.

Kevin makes them with padding in between!!! Great, I will have to get one.

I haveone of his holders for 4x5 without padding in between. I would recommend them to anyone. The extra wide velcro fastener on the flap is a nice design touch.

Kevin and Jill just made me some awesome custom made lens bags for all my LF lenses. I simply came to them with an idea in my head for these custom designed lens bags, explained exactly what I wanted, and they made them PERFECT.

I also have an 8x10 negative carrier bag that was just made by them out of this brand new fabric that they have not used on their other bag yet. I'm not sure if they have this new bag on their site yet, but I'm sure if you contact Kevin, he can give you some info. I actually might have the only bag they have made out of this new fabric! Anyway, I absolutly love it.

I'm also using a Saitta darkcloth for 11x14 camera and love it. The only problem is that it messes up my hair abit, so Kevin may have to work on that problem.

Ryan,
I realize the hair remark may have bneen a little tonghue in cheek.
The silky blackside of the cloth does less damage to what is left of my hair than any cloth I have used.

Kevin and Jill not only do greaat work, they are a terrific young couple with two nice children. They really deserve our business.
