There is a special mechanical cable that goes from the hand-grip of a Bolex Spring-motor camera and attaches to the Zoom EE auto exposure lenses. The special cable actuates a switch that turns the auto exposure OFF so you can focus and frame at wide-open apertures. As you squeeze the trigger, the auto exposure is switched back on and the lens stops down just before the camera starts rolling.
The code name for that cable is DEVAR and I have been looking for that for a decade.
I happened to check fleabay yesterday and saw what looked like the correct cable. It was not called DEVAR, but the description and pictures matched.
The cable is not needed to shoot, but it will make focusing a little easier, as the Bolex finder is quite dim to begin with.
I'll post a picture of how it hooks up when I get it.
