Hello everyone,
Recently I have been going out with Ilford SFX 200 film, but I will always throw in a roll of HP4+ in the bag for good measure. When I get home I'll put the HP4 back in the refrigerator. Am I damaging the film by putting it through several hot-cold-hot-cold cycles?
Thanks.

Probably not. I would worry more about keeping the processing chemicals the same temp. How ever if you store your film in the fridge, you might let it warm up before opening the package to avoid condensation. Good luck!

Let the film warm up thoroughly (several hours) before cooling it of again.

Its condensation that is the issue

ps HP4 - isn't that from the 1970s ?

It's only an issue if you expose the film to damp air when it's cold. As soon as the emulsion is at room temperature, you can open the canister as there's no risk of condensation. Obviously if you live somewhere very dry this is less of an issue. Cycling the temperature is not an issue unless the film is unsealed.
