On first image, if you wanted to show diversity in the forest, you might accentuate some, so your intent is clearer. For example, I see two interest in the image: the fallen log at very front and uprooted and leaning tree in background. If you were to dodge these a bit, they will stand out some creating interest. It may also grab my attention and lead farther into the image. Someone mentioned "jumbled mess" earlier. I tend to agree with him. This is one way I'd try to avoid that impression.
Obviously, that's my opinion. Your intent may be totally different.
On the second image, I'd like to see the view point a little higher. So the bridge is closer to the center. Then burn it in a little. Bump up the contrast a bit. I say this because looking at it straight on, I had to search for the main character which I think is the bridge.
