I have a Kindermann tank and reel that measures about 4 1/2 inches across and is about 4 1/4 inches tall. My assumption was it is for 220 film. Is that correct? Will a roll of 220 fit on a PAttterson plastic roll? Thank you, Bill Barber

220 is the same width as 120, just longer, so wouldn't fit the Kindermann reel you have. What's the interior dimension between the flanges?

The width of the reel is the same as a 120 reel. It just has a larger capacity, which is why my assumption was that is was probably a stainless reel/tank for 220. Bill Barber

OK, I thought you meant the reel was 4 1/4 inches tall. Most 220 reels have smaller gauge wire so that the overal diameter is the same as 120. This one is probably easier to load, if you're doing any 220.

70mm is 2-3/4" wide. If this is the same as 120 reel then its for 120 or 220 film.

There are 220 reels with the same wire gauge as 35mm reels that will work for 120 or 220 and fit a standard stainless steel tank (like the modern Hewes 120/220 reels).

There were older 220 reels made by Nikor with the same wire gauge as 120 reels that required a larger tank, the same size I believe as the Nikor sheet film tank. I don't know if Kindermann made this style of reel.

There were also long reels for 70mm in 15 ft. cartridges, and I think Kindermann did make those.

Anyway, see if it fits 120, and if it does, it will fit 220.
