is it just me, or did "they" replace the tape at the end of the roll of film
with a type that doens't do that "static glow" when you remove it.

i processed a few rolls of film recently and just realized it didn't glow. figures, after finally becoming "one with the glow," and looking forward to it, instead of wondering if my film will be fogged ... they had to replace it.

i guess i'll have to chomp a wintergreen lifesaver while i am "spooling film" instead

John, I use a changing bag for roll film so I guess I am missing out on the show..I sometimes see static when I pull the masking tape off a sheet film box when I open it.

If they did discontinue it, I think it will be the only thing the film industry has discontinued that we can all live without.

I never got to see the show. I too, use a changing bag.

oh no! no glow? I guess its better that way... but don't we all feel like our knowledge is a little less "arcane" without that potential pitfall?:D

I think they have sold off all the excess static to Kodak to ensure that my Readyloads get a zap most times I peel the leader free from the negative to load them in the drum ready for processing...

Cheers, Bob.

The glow is brighter in Arizona, its drier.

Hadn't noticed it missing, as I switched to cutting it off instead for 35mm. Will have to look at the next 120.
