I am selling a relatively uncommon Tanaka Kogaku Tanar H.C. 5cm F2 for Leica Thread Mount. Camera tests of mine and others in recent years have verified the excellence of the Tanar 5m F2. I assume the "H" means it has six elements, while the "C" implies that it is coated. One commenter on another forum once suggested this lens is a Sonnar-type design.
This particular example is just out of the shop with a professional CLA. All mechanical functions work as they should and the iris is free of oil. There are numerous fine coating scratches on the front element, and a handful on the rear element (including noticeable hairline width long one), but in my opinion they are fine enough in nature and not numerous enough to impact results. While I would not recommend this for a serious collector, the more casual user/collector should find it useful and interesting to use and own.
This is a very well-engineered and compact lens that will please most LTM users. I have also set an unusually attractive price for a lens of this caliber, but I am selling the lens "AS-IS" - no returns.
Sold as shown with a new aftermarket rear lens cap and CLA receipt. The lens accepts 40.5mm filters and I have verified the integrity of the filter threads.
