Not really. But my car did - it decided to break down, so my funds are going to be diverted to that matter.
It's Ilford. FP4+ most of the time. Otherwise - HP5+
Get a Rolleiflex?
Oh well, might just as well wait for Sirius Glass to tell me to go for Hasselblad
The whole point of wanting Nikon lens is my unwillingness to add more cameras to the list of those I already own but never use.

Hey, I use Nikon AF cameras too. Not the same, but sometimes I have to travel lighter.
I have tried several medium format cameras in the past (not a Rolleiflex though) and while I loved their majority, the truth is, using a medium format camera is an overkill for me. I simply don't photograph anything that important, or that demanding in terms of negative quality. You got that right. Just joking about the Rolleiflex although i use and love mine.

Except for the Series E, the 1.8's are also unnaturally sterile.

This is madness! I swear this is the first time I've ever seen a thread where the OP wants to be talked out of buying yet another lens...seems almost blasphemous!
What are we talking about, $50 ~ $75 for a 50mm f/2 AI Nikkor -- one of the finest, most loved manual focus Nikkor lenses in history? Sheesh.
You don't need a reason. You don't need to agonize. You don't need to think about it. Just buy the damned lens and be happy.

All of the manual focus 50mm f/1.8 Nikkors are optically the same.
What on earth does that mean? How can I tell a "sterile" lens from a non-sterile one, if one doesn't come in a biohazard bag?

You took the words right out of my mouth
These lenses are so inexpensive that buying one is a complete no-brainer. Buy it, enjoy it, don't fret it, you won't regret it
