taking tele lens to singapore

Hello, I would like to obtain views and experiences. I plan to take a nikon 800mm f5.6 to singapore and malaysia to do wildlife photos. Do Peli cases offer any advantage over the CT 800 trunk case? Would the handlers be more likely to be annoyed by the weight of a Peli and therefore throw it around?
