I did not modify yet. It works perfectly at 83 degrees because it does the perfect time recomended for ra4 at that temperature published by Kodak

I currently run my Durst Printo at about 29ºC and push Ilford RC stuff through it, works a treat. Been doing that for years now, maybe five years.

Ok decision made!
the drum is the way to go when doing a few prints a week for fun. The processor is too much work to clean and fill and maintain.

And let's not forget trays are also an option for those who want the quickest and easiest way to make small quantities of prints. No repeated filling and emptying, and washing and drying of the drum each print. I much prefer it over drums because of it's ease and quickness. Develop, bleach-fix. No prewet or stop bath needed.

I classify trays as a "non-option" because of the greater risk of breathing that stuff!

According to Kodak, it is an option, they say RA-4 can be done in trays in their literature. If it bothers someone, then of course use drums. But it is a viable option for many.

They do list it. I tried it, and do not like it because i found that i need 1 nitrile glove for handling the paper....tongs dont work because you cant see or feel. I dont like sitting in the dark for 4 minutes or whatever it takes.
I find the drum a piece of cake even if i want 10 prints one day or evening.

I've got a nice Thermaphot in storage and have never even plugged it in yet. It came with a binder of notes but no original manual. So I'm
looking for one too!

The manufacturer told me today that there is no digital version but he can send one a copy for 25,- .

Is there still any tabletop RA4 processors like Ilford ICP42 being produced today?

The ICP itself hasn't been available new in quite a few years, and neither ( I think) has its Thermaphot counterpart. Don't know about others of their kind.

Thermaphot still offer their complete ACP range, which is 7 processors.

The Thermaphot UCP processors (that did Ilfochrome and RA-4) were the counterpart to the Ilford ICP-42 (and Cap 40?) units. Those are not available new AFAIK. As Ag says other lines are available.
