I just wanted to convey to the group that a Special Order for 8x10 T Max 400 via Canham Cameras has sufficient minimum quantities to proceed with the order right after the first of 2011. As you are likely already aware, Kodak made a formal announcement to discontinue T Max 100 and 400 in 8x10 sheet film sizes effective immediately and that created a bit of a panic among loyal users of this product. Within a week we have collected sufficient packaged quantities to kick start this process, initiate the payment process and secure a film delivery date. My personal thanks to all that have stepped up to make this happen.

Although we have met the minimums to proceed, I wanted to make sure that APUG members are properly notified of this opportunity to participate as there are obviously no limits within this arrangement. I just do not want to have folks feeling left out or discouraged by not having the opportunity to participate. If you are one of those that would like to have this emulsion in your 8x10 holders shortly, now is the time to get on the bus. You can PM me or call Keith Canham at the number on his website. I will be handing this information off to Keith next week.

Merry Christmas!

Do we have details?

How much? Payment terms?

Will this be the "10 pack" packaging? Or some bulk pack (50 or 100 sheets)?

Is there any prayer of 5x7?

While I don't shoot 8x10, kudos to you, Michael, for making this happen. I'm glad my "big brothers" were able to get together and keep it alive.

Michael,

Most of your questions are answered on the Canham website. I understand that Kodak purchased "a few truckloads" of 10 sheet boxes. All Kodak film is only available in 10 sheet boxes. This will be 10 sheet boxes.

This group is for 8x10. While Keith started a group for 5x7 TMY, it still needs 193 boxes of 25 sheets each in order to come to fruition. I too would like to get my hands on some 5x7 TMY. I expect to place an order with Keith prior to the January cut-off. If enough of us place orders, the film will be cut. It's really up to us to make this happen. Your support would be greatly appreciated by your fellow 5x7 photographers. Of course, you could always purchase 8x10 and cut it down to 5x7. Personally, that's one headache I'd prefer to avoid.

Happy Holidays,

I don\'t really want to cut it down either.

My story is that my other half has wanted larger images for altprocesses for a while now. So I scrounged a couple of 5x7 beaters and a FrankenCamera 8x10 made from parts and things from the hardware store. The winter project was to get the bellows replaced.

The target emulsion was going to be TMax 400.

I have been playing around with a box of Xray film to figure out work flow, find the bellows leaks, etc. And now, after 18 months of fussing with it the emulsion was pulled.

I was ready to cry.

The 10 sheet 8x10 TMY boxes will sell for $69 per box less the 10% discount (net $62.10 per box) plus shipping. Payment is due on or before mid Jan 2011 and film will likely be 5-8 weeks after that. Call Keith Canham next week and talk to him personally at the phone number listed above. He has a website.

8x10 a go, but 5x7 still short for order

Hey gang, just following up on this.

I was in contact with Keith Canham regarding the special order. The 8X10 is submitted to Kodak and slated for production, but I don't know exactly when.

The 5x7 order still doesn't have enough interest to meet the minimum production. If anyone is interested, please consider it soon. I'm afraid that we may loose the opportunity if we don't make it happen.
