sync with radio triggers

Hi,
I have just purchased a Mamiya RB76 and i can fire my vivitar 285 direct with the sync cable but for some reason i cant seem to fire it using my radio triggers. I am using a sync cable with both trigger to lens and receiver to flash.
Any help will be much appreciated.

It may not work without a work around since it expects a signal from the camera to transmit/trigger.

Actually, I was bit dissapointed too. But work around is rather simple to do.

Also expect that you may need to recharge/change batteries often since, it will be transmitting continuously when in use.

How you will manage to connect RF603c to RB67, if you do not have hot-shoe? Since, RF603c do not take input apart from hot-shoe.

those triggers have to be mounted on a smart shoe of a DSLR to fire. I hear there is a fix where you can jump a contact with a ressitor to use off camera n on mechanical cameras.

do a google search, that's how I found the fix article

Also, I've read that the RF60x series might not sync up past 1/250 or so. the CTR-301Ps can, as reported, go up to 1/500s.

I am afraid, you will need the mod if you want to use with RB67 or any camera apart from EOS Canon(Digital/Film).

The mod is to tell the transmitter (and maybe receiver) that it's ON a compatiable camera. The mod tricks it so it always thinks it's on one.

I've found with a similar trigger, that just having even a cold shoe, will work. With no shoe on my older cameras it either fires constantly, or not at all. On the RB-67, I mounted it to the cold shoe on the side, and all was well. With my 4x5 and other shoeless cameras, putting a cold shoe depressed the cotact button, and all was well.

If you can find the older version of the Yongnuo 602 trigger/receiver combo, that's likely to work. You need the 602TX transmitter, not the newer 600TX transmitter, as the latter lacks a PC port. I use this combo on my Pentax 6x7 with a PC sync cable and the transmitter mounted on the handle cold shoe, and on my Bronica ETRSi or EOS3 on the hot shoe without the cable.

The difficulty is that Yonguo doesn't make the 602TX transmitter anymore, so they seem to be hard to find. If you are looking around and see someone offering what looks like the 602TX, ask explicitly about the PC port (lots of retailers just use the older photos). Even then, I had someone specifically confirm that they had the 602TX version and not the 600TX, and yet still sent me the newer 600TX.

I too didn't realize that the Yongnuo RF603c wouldn't work for my Canons and my MF bodies until I had already bought them.

I used to own Cactus V5, they could sync up to 1/500 on my hasselblad. No mods or workarounds. Just connect PC cable to the lens.

What flashes/strobes do you use?

I like the V6 because I could also manually control power on my TTL flashes. So it's dual purpose.

As I understand it, the flash synch is limited to whatever your camera can handle. If you're using an RB-67, your lens's fastest should be good, but use it with a focal plane curtain shutter, and you're likely to be limited to 1/30-1/250.

I've had great luck with the ones like I listed previously. Several folks make them, and they're cheap enough on Amazon. You can even get a set with 1 TX and 3 RX. They work with PC synch cables, so they're not brand specific.

I do, however, like the Cactus ones you listed as a possible upgrade for my digital work. I'm planning on getting the 568EX2, so they might be worth an extended look! Thanks for the link!
