Sync cord options for Pentax 645 LS lens

Before I buy a leaf shutter lens for my Pentax 645 and AF280T flash (hot shoe attachment only), I want to know that a sync cord is available. It seems that the dedicated Pentax LS sync cord is really hard to find. Are there non-Pentax altnernatives out there? Can I put one together from a "standard" hot shoe and cord? Thanks!
