In another setting these could be small rocks fitted together to form what in the U.K. are called drystone walls for the division of agricultural fields. Called "drystone" because the rocks are fitted together like a jigsaw with no cement- mortar adhesive but are nevertheless very strong walls if the rocks are fitted together well

Nice work. Always tricky to get highlight detail and shadows in such a high contrast image.

Nice work. Always tricky to get highlight detail and shadows in such a high contrast image.

The scene was in direct, high intensity afternoon light.

The shadows are preserved because of the very long development time.

The highlights are controlled because of compensation effect of highly dilute Pyrocat-HD and the lack of agitation.
